I have a 2000 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter ive been having problems with it starting i had a mechanic look at it ?

He put the machine on it and it said the ignition coil c was malfunctioning so I went and got that done and it still wouldn't start then he said it could be the crankshaft censor got that replaced and it still won't start I was told it could be the fuel pump but u can hee the sound that the fuelpump makes can someone who know about cars please help me
